Studio Space and Equipment for Library Employees

The media studio is available for Library employees to use to create digital content. CAST staff are responsible for the storage, maintenance, and safekeeping of the media studio equipment and spaces. If Library student staff would like access to the media studio to create materials to support Library programming and services, the request must be made by their supervisor.

CAST staff are available to recommend, train, and assist Library employees using the available equipment and software; however, if you are planning to create eLearning content, please submit the eLearning intake form and CAST staff will schedule a consultation in advance of the space/equipment booking to discuss eLearning platforms, accessibility and best practices. If you are working on promotional materials, please connect with Library Communications. Requests for support to create promotional materials must come through them.

Library employees will have access to:

  • Circulating equipment collection
  • Media Studio spaces and equipment

Circulating Equipment Collection

  • Library employees can use the Media Studio Equipment Booking form to review and reserve equipment from this collection two business days in advance to ensure CAST staff are available.
  • Before borrowing a piece of equipment for the first time, employees will receive training on how to properly handle and use the equipment. This can vary significantly depending on the equipment being borrowed/used, so please discuss with CAST when scheduling.
  • Equipment is for a one-week loan period with option to extend for up to two weeks.
  • Library employees are responsible for the safety of the equipment while it is in their care and must agree to the terms of service when booking (See Appendix B).
  • If you would like advice on what equipment to use for your project, please contact CAST.
