Choosing the right video editor

The media studio provides access to two web-based applications: Powtoon and WeVideo. More video editing options are available in the Editing Suites, including iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier Pro.

The right choice for your project will depend on a number of factors, including the style of video you want to create and your comfort level with video editing tools.

PowToon

  • Beginner level tool
  • Like a fancy version of PowerPoint
  • Create videos using animated characters and objects or stock images.
  • Includes a library of media to use in your video
  • Upload your own images, audio or short video clips.
  • Add text, transitions and music.
  • Not a video editor.
  • The finished product will have a watermark in the righthand corner.
