Why use infographics?

  • Present complex information quickly and clearly.
  • Bring together words and graphics that help to show us information, patterns or trends.
  • Visualizations can make it easier to understand information compared to words alone.
  • Infographics are engaging and can be beautiful.

How do I evaluate infographics?

  • Not all infographics are created equally. Consider using the following 4 criteria when judging infographics. 
  • Criteria 1: Does it tell a story?
  • Criteria 2: Does it use good / useful data / information?
  • Criteria 3: Does the visual style help / hinder?
  • Criteria 4: Should the content be in an infographic?
