Find Newspapers

• The Library subscribes to the full content of some newspapers, as listed in the geographic categories below.
• Full-text versions of individual newspaper articles can often be found along with magazine and journal articles in some of the Library’s specialized subject databases, by searching on subject, author and date terms. These databases are searchable by subject as well as author and date, and they are listed in the geographic categories on this guide.
• Individual newspaper articles can also be found in our Omni catalogue
  • Enter your subject search terms into the Omni search box
  • Click on “Newspaper Search" in the left menu under “Resource Type”
• Some newspaper resources are “Open Access” for everyone in the world to use, while others are only accessible to all University of Guelph users once they have logged on with their campus credentials.
  • Open Access resources are marked with a red tag in the list.
• There are many online collections freely available for areas of the world not listed here. Get in touch with the Library to find out more.

The Library has an historical collection of newspaper titles in microfilm format. These are housed in compact shelving in the Library’s lower level.
